THE LADY IS A TRAMP

The Lady is a Tramp was multi tracked on my new Yamaha Genos TRX system and arranged on Logic Pro X.   With increased polyphony, there is no doubt that this creates a full on sound and have used this song to launch March 2018 Swing with Bling into Spring on Keyboard Player!   Come and find us on https://www.keyboard-player.org.uk - new members always welcome.

I used the Big Band Crooner style and the following voices

CFX Grand Piano,  SA2 Clarinet, Big Band Trumpet, Pop Horns, Pop Horns Bright

then added the following tracks on Logic Pro X

CFX Grand Piano - second track

Romance Clarinet

SA2 Soft Trumpet - two tracks

Tenor Sax

Sax Section

Big Band Baritone

The Lady Is a Tramp" is a show tune from the 1937 Rodgers and Hart musical Babes in Arms in which it was introduced by former child star Mitzi Green. This song is a spoof of New York high society and its strict etiquette (the first line of the verse is "I get too hungry for dinner at eight..."). It has become a popular standard.

I have always loved this song and enjoy singing it as well.  I just wanted to create a piano and strings version of this lovely ballad.

"The Nearness of You" is a popular song written in 1938 by Hoagy Carmichael, with lyrics by Ned Washington. The song was performed in the Paramount film Romance in the Dark (1938) by the lead actress Gladys Swarthout of the Metropolitan Opera. However, some debate this origin.  It has been covered by a huge variety of popular artists.
