My Background
Please find below links to other cookery websites from where I got some of my ideas for the recipes I have included on my website. It is interesting to read on those websites that many of their recipes came, in turn, from other websites or cookery books and it is wonderful to think that these can be re-vamped and modernised and given a new twist, often offering a more healthy option from the original way of doing things.

Interestingly, many online recipes are inspired or simply shared on by other cooks and where I have been able to find provenance, it is important to give credit to the original chef or cook and listing these as GUEST RECIPES. A few of my recipes are originated by myself but mostly shared on.
Like so many people I know, I have an enormous library of cookery books as well as a vast number which I inherited from my Mother, who was a fantastic cook. My own children are also very efficient and talented in the kitchen and it is largely thanks to our daughter that we are now trying so many new Vegetarian and Vegan recipes. Like most people, we are constantly tweaking and trying different ways with old favourites as well as scouring the internet for new ideas.

I began my Cookery website in March 2014 and then in 2018, it was moved to an independent website and named Susie Drage's Cookery Pages, but now it has been completely re-designed and the content has now been moved back to this Music Art & Cookery website.
Like so many people I know, I have a huge collection of cookery books, but the style of cooking has dramatically changed over the years with a tendency now to eat as healthily as possible and using fresh ingredients. Although, just a kitchen cook - nothing beats eating totally fresh produce from your garden as well as cooking with all fresh ingredients and trying to avoid eating processed food.

Browsing through some of my very old cookbooks, I feel it is a tragedy for some really lovely ideas to go forgotten and so very often these are tweaked and some ingredients replaced to make them healthier and less rich.
I do all my own photography and occasionally use library photos until I can replace temporary library stock with my own images. Gradually, I hope to improve on many of my existing images.
