Sunflower Burger

Sunflower Veggie Burgers

for 5 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sunflower seed

  • ¼ cup yellow onion, finely chopped

  • 1 cup brown rice, cooked

  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons water

  • 1 cup carrot, chopped

  • ½ cup celery, chopped

AND THIS IS WHAT YOU DO....

  1. Preheat oven to 375˚F (190˚C).
     

  2. In the bowl of a food processor, add sunflower seeds. Process until finely ground.
     

  3. Add onion, brown rice, thyme, salt, and water and process until combined.
     

  4. Add carrot and celery and pulse several times to combine.
     

  5. Using a ½ cup (120 ml) measuring cup, portion 5 patties from the mixture.
     

  6. Place onto a lightly greased parchment-lined sheet pan.
     

  7. Bake for 30 minutes, or until firm and browned, flipping over halfway through.
     

  8. Serve burgers piping hot!
